# Technology radar

What it is for. Assess maturity from different dimensions.

The four downloads (Excel, Word, PDF and text) are generated from this same sheet.

**When to use it.** Before making a decision or updating the corresponding product. You can use a spreadsheet, a document or a notebook; no software licences are needed.

## How to use it

1. Start with the real decision or question you need to resolve and set a cut-off date.
2. Fill in only what can be verified; write **NOT VERIFIED** when data is missing.
3. Separate observed facts, hypotheses and implications, and name a reviewer.
4. Keep the original version and record relevant changes when you update it.

Support scale (the same as in lesson 5.2 and Lab L07): **solid / partial / insufficient / not assessable**. “Not assessable” means data is lacking; it is not a zero.

| Dimension | Indicator | Evidence and date | Support | Limit | Open question |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Technical performance | | | | | |
| Industrial maturity | | | | | |
| Adoption | | | | | |
| Ecosystem and supply | | | | | |
| Strategic fit | | | | | |

Company A case · simulation

Fictional case

## Guided example · Company A

For Company A there are positive technical indications from tests, but not enough data on unit cost or durability in production.

Educational simulation: fictional information and organisations.

## Mistake to avoid

Patents, publications, demonstrations and sales are different signals; they are not equivalent measures of maturity.

## Final check

- Is it clear which decision or need it serves?
- Can the evidence be located, and is it dated?
- Are uncertainties and limits made explicit?
- Can someone else repeat or review the work?

**Notice:** entirely fictional case. The tools are for educational purposes; they do not represent an audit or certification.

**Use**

It works with a spreadsheet, a document or a notebook, with no software licences. It does not replace expert review or certify regulatory compliance.
